Truth: I wanted to be an actor when I was a kid. I had access to a video camera when I was 16 and though I would have fun making various performances/little “scary” movies for my friends and family, I talked myself out of attempting such a career because of how I looked. I do think I grew into my looks but I wish I had been kinder to myself.

YAASS QUEEN: fans often question each other if they prefer ALIEN or ALIENS but the answer is quite complex. They are such completely different movies. Alien is a haunting sci fi horror classic. Aliens does contain some horrific imagery yet it’s theme is predominantly sci fi action. Both feature Sigourney Weaver in very different yet compelling leading performances (her Oscar nomination for Aliens was both deserved yet shocking as the Oscars are not as casually known to honor the sci-horror/action genre). Both have very strong acting all around, and are directed by two wildly respected men with an eye for telling a story. Both contain graphic imagery that has the ability to stick with a viewer for life. As a kid (unaware of the title) I saw glimpses, mere seconds, of the movie Aliens while someone was flipping thru channels at a Christmas party and years later I recognized those same images while watching the film in its entirety. The make up, set design, sound, and special fx...so much holds up so well after all these years.

While I also own all the Halloween’s and Nightmare on Elm Streets, it’s fair to say I have the most fun watching the Friday the 13th franchise. I’m that nerd that loves to play the soundtrack when I’m having a campfire, or on my way outside to investigate a strange noise or grab a beer from the garage in only my underwear and button up shirt lol.
