00063 # craving smoking during work break

This life is always a race against time. I say: "but are we saving lives?" No! Is there an urgency in what I do? I would say no, ... and then as they say in Rome: "ma 'sticazzi" !!! Or rather, who cares! We are always in a hurry and I am the first to set a good example. In here I give orders to everyone, even my boss (only he doesn't know it yet). Sometimes I manage to fit in a cigarette even when I shouldn't. Like on this occasion because I had already finished my break, but I wanted to smoke another cigarette even though I had already smoked for the whole time of my break, and in twenty minutes I would have gone out again anyway. But if I can smoke, I smoke. If I can't, I smoke anyway. A colleague asks me if she can take a break and with a cigarette in my mouth I answer that she can take a break because I am finishing smoking. This is what we say to each other: it is a short "in real life" dialogue with Roman dialect. I had to smoke really fast also because there were people inside waiting for me. I burn a Chesterfield in a little over a minute.

Questa vita è sempre una gara contro il tempo. Io dico: "ma stiamo salvando vite?" No! C'è un carattere di urgenza in quel che faccio? Direi di no, ... e allora come si dice a Roma: "ma 'sticazzi" !!! Ovvero, chi se ne frega! Si va sempre di corsa e io sono la prima che dà il buon esempio. Qui dentro comando tutti, anche il mio capo (solo che lui non lo sa ancora). A volte riesco a incastrare una sigaretta anche quando non potrei. Come in questa occasione perché io avevo già finito la mia pausa, ma ho voluto fumare ancora un'altra sigaretta nonostante avessi già fumato per tutto il tempo della mia pausa, e fra venti minuti comunque sarei uscita di nuovo. Ma io se posso fumare, fumo. Se non posso, fumo lo stesso. Una collega mi chiede se può fare una pausa e io con la sigaretta in bocca le rispondo che può fare la pausa in quanto io sto finendo di fumare. Questo è quello che ci diciamo: si tratta di un breve dialogo "in real life" con parlata romanesca. Ho dovuto fumare molto in fretta anche perché c'era gente dentro che mi stava aspettando. Brucio una Chesterfield in poco più di un minuto.
